Guwahati Municipal Corporation has been conducting spraying and fogging as anti dengue measures. GMC has recently taken up anti-dengue measures in a large scale covering entire Guwahati city. Regarding controlling of mosquito menace in Guwahati city, it is to state that GMC along with District Malaria Office of Health Department are conducting spraying and fogging operation in the various location of Kamrup (M).

Fogging operations are regularly conducted by the engaged team as a routine and at the time of outbreak the no. of teams are increased for better coverage. Awareness camp for prevention of dengue and other vector borne diseases has been conducted at various wards of Municipality and in the year with active participation of ward councilors and Area Members along with General Public. Hoardings for awareness of dengue were installed at various locations of Guwahati city from GMC in collaboration with National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). Leaflets for awareness and prevention of dengue were distributed during fogging operation and awareness camps.
