Guwahati Municipal Corporation has organised Cleanliness Drive at " Kamakhya Temple Area", " Uzanbazar" and "Kachari Bazar" on " World Environment Day" i.e. on 5th June 2018. The theme of the drive was "Beat the Plastic". Accordingly, two major Market namely "Uzanbazar and Kachari Bazar" has been declared as "No Plastic Zone". A massive awareness drive has been arranged with the help of Self Help Group under NULM (National Urban Livelihood Mission", Guwahati Municipal Corporation and other stakeholders, a cycle rally conducted by the WWF and Plantation Drive was also organised.
