On 13th of August 2017, Sunday, a plantation drive has been conducted by Guwahati Municipal Corporation with an initiative to make Greater Guwahati into a Green City as embraced by Hon'ble Minister, Environment and Forests, Govt. Of Assam, Smti Pramila Rani Brahma. All the GMC employees were asked to be present in the event which was organized in the Boragaon GMC Dumpsite at 8:00 am in the morning. The Commissioner, GMC, Ms Monalisa Goswami inaugurated the event with an inspiring speech on 'Plantation and Green Guwahati' and planted seedlings in the campus of West Boragaon office.
